Classic Theatre of Maryland seeks classically trained and/or experienced ACTORS and MUSICAL THEATRE PERFORMERS (actors who sing and dance/move well) for productions in our 2023-2024 season. Qualifications
Prior professional experience or pre-professional training in ACTING (classical training/Shakespeare preferred), DANCE (musical theatre jazz and tap), VOICE (legit and belt, experience with golden-age musical styles and inside parts/harmonies preferred).
Additional Qualifications
Undergraduate degree (B.A., B.F.A.) in Acting, Vocal Performance, Dance, or a related major.
Conservatory training / professional specialty training (commedia workshops, stage combat, voice/dialect intensives, Shakespeare intensives, etc.)

Seeking experienced stitchers to assist with costumes builds and alterations for our 2023-24 Season.
Job description:
Classic Theatre of Maryland seeks knowledgeable and experienced over-hire stitchers for its costume shop for the Fall ’23-Spring ‘24 season. Stitchers are responsible for stitching and making any necessary finishes for assigned costumes while maintaining the integrity of the costume.
Responsibilities:
• Sewing – via hand or machine
• Alter costumes according to costume department / designer specifications
• Manage time effectively on each sewing project
Requirements:
• Possess advanced knowledge of stitching techniques
• Knowledge of basic hand finishing techniques
• Demonstrated experience working with domestic and industrial sewing machines, including sergers and overlocks
• Be available to commute to Classis Theatre of Maryland during regular business hours (9 am-5 pm Monday-Friday, with evening and weekend calls as needed during tech rehearsals.)
• Ability to communicate effectively regarding projects
• Ability to take instructions
• Ability to work well under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
• Theatrical experience preferred but not required.
Salary Range:
Pay rates start at $20 per hour. Pay rate negotiable based on experience with theatrical construction techniques. We are currently looking for stitchers with availability within/between the months of September – December, but candidates available after those dates should still apply if they are interested in future productions. Stitchers are hired on a show-by-show basis. All candidates should provide a resume, references, portfolio and/or may be required to complete a basic stitching test before hiring.
